Yoga for Beginners

a four week course

I am so excited to be offering Yoga for Beginners at Sāmya Studios for the second year in a row.

This is for you if:

  • you’re brand new to yoga

  • you haven’t rolled out your mat in a while

  • you’ve been muddling your way through for a while but feel a bit confused about the whole thing!

What to expect

The course is designed to:

  • teach you the most common shapes and sequences that we move through in most physical yoga classes

  • give you an understanding of what yoga is more broadly - why is it that we get on the mat and make these shapes?

  • support you to breathe in a way that helps regulate your nervous system

  • give you space to explore how you like to move. What makes you feel more present? What makes you feel more grounded? What helps you feel more alive?

Each weekly session is 1.5 hours. The group is kept deliberately small (there are 16 spaces available), and there are plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Having said that - you won’t be put on the spot or expected to contribute unless you want to.

This is a course designed to meet you where you are - introvert or extrovert, interested in the physical or the mental, movement enthusiast or rest aficionado.

When is it?

The course will run over four Sundays, each session from 14.00 - 15.30.

The dates are:

Sunday 20th Sept

Sunday 27th Sept

Sunday 11th Oct

Sunday 18th Oct

Pricing

In order for this offering to be as accessible, we’ve come up with a sliding scale:

💛 Supported (£80) - for those who need financial assistance

💛 Sustainer (£95) - covers the true cost of your spot

💛 Supporter (£110) - helps us continuing offering accessible options & supports others in the community

We encourage you to choose a rate that best reflects your situation. By doing this, you’re helping us create a more inclusive space for everyone.

note: if none of these pricing options work for you, please reach out to Sāmya directly and they’ll do their best to make it work
